In 2017, I led a team of 10 people and successfully fundraised $3535. Then in 2018, I continued my passion by supporting this cause and led 2 teams of 20 people. Amazingly, we doubled our fundraising more than we did in our previous year and achieved more than $5000!

Now hitting the year of 2019, I decided to join the team that fundraised the most in the past for Motionball Marathon of Sport where our team goal now is $15.000 (Shoutout to Team Fam & Friends). I want to continue fundraising for this great cause because I do have a special brother who has intellectual disabilities in which his presence always reminds me of his people’ wellbeing. Therefore here I am today, raising funds to support his people and the programs for special athletes with intellectual disabilities.

My ask? I want to personally fundraise at least more than $500 for the Special Olympics Canada through Marathon of Sport. During the marathon of sport, I will be competing in a variety of sports alongside local Special Olympics athletes like Taylor.

"Taylor inspires us every day with the way he faces the world - fearless and with a big smile. He has had a number of obstacles to overcome in his life. Motionball has had a direct impact on Taylor by giving him the chance to interact with young professionals and positive role models who look more at what he can do - not what he can't. This has made him more confident. Last year, Taylor brought home 2 bronze medals from the National Summer Games in Nova Scotia and interviewed the legendary Don Cherry on his very own radio show."    - Steve Redmond, parent and Special Olympics coach

By making a donation to Motionball, you'll be supporting athletes like Taylor and together we can level the playing field for thousands of Canadians with intellectual disabilities.

If you are wondering on where will the funds go?
Motionball was proud to donate 70% of the funds raised from the Marathon of Sport event to Special Olympics British Columbia. This funding is directed to support programs for special local athletes in the community. The remaining is directed to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, whose mission is to ensure the long-term financial integrity of the Special Olympics movement in Canada and to fund long term athlete and volunteer growth. If you need more information, please visit motionball.com .Today, motionball proudly hosts over 40 events across Canada and has delivered over $10.8 million to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation!

Thank you very much for your support,  Kevin
