For those of you who do not know, on Saturday, June 1st our CrossFit Queen Street team will be participating in a charity event called the motionball “Marathon of Sport” in support of the Special Olympics.

I have been thankful enough to have grown up with a sister who has Autism. She has brought a significant amount of joy in my life, but has also taught me to appreciate the little things that most people take for granted.

Last year, our team had the pleasure of competing with Laura and my sister Lily (seen in the photos below). The amount of joy brought out of Laura and Lily by particapting in motionball is irreplaceable and it is something they look forward to every year. I know that if you help me support motionball, they will do an excellent job of continuing to bring joy and giving athletes like Laura and Lily a sense of purpose.

Marathon of Sport Kingston is part of a larger national movement called motionball for Special Olympics, a non-profit organization that empowers young Canadians to be leaders in their communities, raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics so that individuals with intellectual disabilities can lead happier, healthier lives. Special Olympics provides opportunities for over 47,000 Canadians with intellectual disabilities to experience the transformative power of sport. Today, motionball proudly hosts over 40 events across Canada and has delivered over $10.8 million to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation!

Thank you very much for your support,  Storm
