On September 23, I am participating in an all-day fundraiser called Marathon of Sport. Let me repeat that, it's a MARATHON of sport. I'm not what you'd call ... sporty. I'm doing this to raise funds to donate to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation. Throughout the day, I will be competing alongside local Special Olympics athletes in a variety of sports such as basketball, soccer, bocce, bench ball, flag football and ultimate. Yeah, apparently bench ball and ultimate count as sports now. I'm as shocked as anyone.

Marathon of Sport is organized by motionball... yeah, it doesn't have a capital M.
That annoys me. Anyway, motionball is a not-for-profit whose mandate is to introduce the next generation of donors, volunteers and sponsors to the Special Olympics movement through integrated social and sporting events. motionball now proudly hosts 33 annual events in 19 cities across the country. One of those cities is Winnipeg; Winnipeg is the city I live in; .... Winnipeg. Through these events and since inception in 2002, motionball has donated over $10 million to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.
