Hello friends and family!

Some of you may not know I am a proud Australian (ah I joke, I’m pretty vocal about this fact) and as I come up to my 7th year in Canada, I also considered myself a Canadian too and cheer for both teams at the Olympics.

This Saturday June 2nd, I will be participating in an all-day fundraiser called Marathon of Sport. All funds raised at the event are donated to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation. Sport not only challenges the mind and body but the wallet too. The cost of a coach, pool/ field time, physio and equipment all adds up. Finding funds and sponsorship can be especially hard for any athlete but especially people with special needs.

Throughout the day, I will be playing alongside local Special Olympics athletes (I know this is really cool) in a variety of sports such as beach volleyball, european handball, ultimate, bocce, soccer, Special Olympics Functional Training, BUMP, benchball and an obstacle course.

For the event I’m hoping together we can raise $300 which can help buy a team set of floor hockey sticks or a pool rental for a 2-hour practice (yep sport is expensive).
