On June 9, I am participating in an all-day fundraiser called Marathon of Sport. All funds raised at the event are donated to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation. Throughout the day, I will be competing alongside local Special Olympics athletes in a variety of sports such as basketball, soccer, bocce, bench ball, flag football and ultimate.

My Mom Joanne has dedicated her career to working with Special Needs Students. Growing up, I learned quickly that people with Special Needs are not disabled. If anything, people with Special Needs are the perfect example of, 'never letting anything hold you back.' They continuously push through any mental or physical challenges they may have to live the life they want. By participating in motionball, not only am I trying to support an amazing organization, and make my mom proud.. but I am also trying to make the dreams of those who deserve it, come true.

Marathon of Sport is organized by motionball. motionball is a not-for-profit whose mandate is to introduce the next generation of donors, volunteers and sponsors to the Special Olympics movement through integrated social and sporting events. Through these events and since inception in 2002, motionball has donated over $9,500,000 to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation. For more information on motionball please visit www.motionball.com.Thank you very much for your support,
